Building Blocks - Homelessness in the City with Juan Galloway

Join us for our first talk "Homelessness in the City" with Juan Galloway, president of New York City Relief. He will be exploring the questions below through the perspective of the gospel.

1) Why care about homelessness in our community?
2) What can the churches do?
3) How do we get started?

Juan Galloway is the president of New York City Relief, a mobile outreach to the homeless. They connect people to resources that are life transforming. Their team of staff and volunteers believe that everyone deserves a place to call home because homelessness is a struggle, not a life sentence. Mobility is key to their strategy and as they operate outreaches in NYC and NJ, it allows them to go where the need is greatest. Juan and his wife Tracy served as youth pastors for ten years before joining NYCR and founding City Tribe Church for the homeless and The Noise Hip Hop Church. Juan and Tracy were listed in Charisma Magazine, August 2005 issue, as two of the 30 leaders under the age of 40 shaping the emerging church of the future. Juan is an ordained minister with the Foursquare denomination. He serves as President with NYCR, and has authored 28, The Street Bible as well as God’s Beggars- My Adventures Discovering God In The Inner City. Juan speaks regularly at churches throughout the NYC metro area. He is an accomplished musician, singer/ songwriter and worship leader. He and Tracy have four children together: River, Hailey, Corban, and Connor.
